Iguazu
Iguazu falls are in the province of Misiones, the area known as “Argentinean Mesopotamia” whose main characteristics is the exuberant vegetation and its subtropical climate: hot and wert during summer (january and febraury) and warm all the year long.
But Misones is not only the waterfalls, close to them, only two hours travel, you can see the Jesuitic Ruins, various rivers to go fishing where the major weir is the golden fish, the “Yerba Mate” plantation, used to make “mate”, the characteristic drink, a beautiful view of the Misionera rainforest whose main characteristic is the dark red land.
Iguazú Falls
Iguazú falls means “Great Waters” in Guaraní language, in the Iguazú National Park, are one of the most wonderful waterfalls in the world.
The Iguazú river flows at 1700 m3 a second (in the winer), from a height of 70 meters through 275 falls diseminated in the shape of a half moon along 2.7 Km. All of them are in the Argentinian territory, as the limit goes by the espectacular Garganta del Diablo, a defile with water walls about 150 meters wide and 700 meters long.
By this beautiful sight you can see a wide variety of flora and dauna.The most exciting part of the excursion to Iguazu falls must be on foot along the passages and paths going through the region so that the wonderful sight can be well watched. at the entrance to the National Park there is a modern infraestructure to make it possible to use the different ways of visiting every place, such as the new and modern Touristic train. You can also visit the falls by night, there are differents tours to see the falls under the full moon.
